82% of Tanzania is connected to broadband Internet

Director General of the Tanzania Telecommunications Corporation (TTCL) Moremi Marwa informed the President of the country about the progress of the National Project to create a backbone broadband Internet network, noting that the network currently covers more than 82% of the territory of Tanzania.
The expanded infrastructure has enabled TTCL to introduce affordable high-speed Internet services, including home broadband access and public Wi-Fi access points in open spaces across the country.
According to TTCL, the improved backbone network has also allowed for increased connectivity to households, offices, and key public spaces, including major tourist sites such as Mount Kilimanjaro.
